Jenkintown-Wyncote SEPTA Garage
SEPTA and the Montgomery County Planning Commission have proposed a new parking garage at the Jenkintown-Wyncote Regional Rail station that would provide spaces for an additional 244 cars, increasing the total available for commuters from 523 to 767.
According to residents who oppose the plan, SEPTA is encouraging commuters to drive farther by focusing efforts on inner-ring stations such as Jenkintown-Wyncote and not expanding services to stations where the stops are less frequent. Residents of the immediate area fear that their narrow streets cannot accomodate the increased traffic.
