Kathy Hampton
My name is Kathy Hampton and I am asking for your support on November 3rd in the General Election. I am running for the office of Township Commissioner-- Ward 4, offering new leadership, independence, and an intense willingness to listen and reach out to Cheltenham residents. I want your ideas and to understand your concerns.
As Commissioner, my job will be to represent township residents on a range of issues including taxes, public safety, parks and recreation, business district improvements, zoning and land use, and other local government matters.
My goal is to sustain and improve the quality of life of the township and ensure that we are well positioned for the future.
My husband and I have lived in Wyncote since 2004. I am a graduate of Howard University, the University of Baltimore School of Law and the Catholic University of America. For over 15 years, I have served as a law librarian with major law firms in Philadelphia and New Jersey. Richard and I have been married for more than 18 years and we are the proud parents of two teenage children. I was actively involved in the local Obama Presidential campaign as a poll watcher, and data entry assistant. Most importantly, going door to door on behalf of the campaign gave me the opportunity to meet so many wonderful and civic-minded people.
Through my professional and volunteer experiences, I have grown to appreciate the dedication of so many individuals to their community; the importance of involving both longstanding residents and newcomers in the township's civic life; the need for continuous learning and new ideas; and the importance of accountability, transparency and results.
I welcome your support. Please vote for Kathy Hampton on November 3rd.
